The Club’s tennis courts
have hosted many
notable Professional, USTA and UTR National Championships, including the USTA Boys 18
& Under and 16 & under National Clay
Court Championship, UTR National Open Clay
Court Championships and the Corel Champions
Exhibition Tour. The Corel, played at Woodmont in the late 1990s, was part of the Nuveen Seniors Tennis Tour. It
featured stars of the game such as Andres Gomez, Johan Kriek, Eddie Dibbs, John
Lloyd, tennis legends Jimmy Connors and Bjorn Borg, and Washington’s own Harold
Solomon. Tennis at the Club started with two outdoor courts. Today we have
sixteen outdoor courts, six indoor cushioned courts, indoor pickleball
courts, as well as locker rooms, a fitness area, a lounge and state of the art
lighting in our magnificent Indoor Racquet Sports Center.
Woodmont’s racquet sports facility is considered one of the premier facilities in the United
States.
At Woodmont Country Club,
it is our goal to provide a first class facility with unrivaled instruction, age
appropriate programming and a mix of competitive and friendly events in an environment for all players of all skill levels
